Bought new glasses

Made it to the Robert Peel memorial, met some horses, relaxed, visited the Giant's Causeway, started a relationship, transferred car ownership, rebuilt new htpcs (hopefully better).

Sold a car

Spent a day with a pretty lady, told a truth to some friends, gave an honest appraisal of a potential stalker (it was just a misunderstanding).
Not bad for a weekend.

Didn't kill annoying people

What? That counts!
Fine. I'm also getting  a much needed early night.

Bought batteries for the remotes

Hopefully enough to keep them all running until we can get rechargeables

I also dragged a friend out before she went stir crazy - or more accurately she dragged me!

Weekend was spent at beer festival, convincing people of the joy of cider drinking.

Fixed audio on the new htpc

An Eden xbmc build was failing to produce audio. It turns out it was a problem in .asoundrc, and rather than strutting on the analog audio, all the sound was being directed to the HDMI audio. Apparently it's a common problem.

Caught up with a friend

I hardly ever get to chat to Alan these days, and even if it's only messenger it's always fun to catch up.

Spent an hour on my CV

At this point I'm starting to bore myself with complaining about work, so it's about time

There was an internet cafe next to the cinema. Jon and I spent a lot of time there, although I hardly remember what I did.

Jon and I watched Episode I: The Phantom Menace at the cinema. When I was booking a taxi back to where we were staying the dispatcher wanted to know what it was like. My answer was "It was good, but it was no Star Wars".

We also watched the Mummy there. It was better.

The next morning I received a knock on my motel door. I opened it to find a man holding a camera pointing at me, and a woman holding a microphone in my face. I immediately slammed the door. Five minutes later I put on Jon's denim jacket and walked into reception to talk to them. I convinced them to give me a lift to the hospital in exchange for an interview.

That was the first conscious memory I had of reciting the details of the accident.

It was the first time I consciously realised the memory of the accident was playing on repeat in my mind. In my head I referred to it as my personal in-flight movie.

The morning afterwards one of the paramedics came in and sat with Roby for an hour. Apparently in all his years of work this was the case that had affected him the most.

A woman briefly rubbed my back whilst I sat on the sidewalk and bawled my eyes out. A paramedic took my upper left arm, helped me up and led me to a private waiting room at A&E. This was all the physical comfort I got for the first 48 hours.

The Police Officer stayed with me for two hours after her shift ended. She didn't want to leave me completely alone.

I can't really remember anything about her. I don't even know if that's true. But I think it is.
